Dyshidrotic eczema is one kind of eczema in which itchy blisters occurs in the hands and the feet. The common names for this disease are vesicular eczema and the Dyshidrotic eczema. This disease may be associated with the atopy and the familial atopy. 50 % of the patients suffering from the dyshidrotic eczema have atopy dermatitis. It is the fact that more women suffers from this disease than the men. This disease affects the people between the ranges 4 years to 76 years.
The blisters that are formed due to this disease are quiet severe and they took at least two to three weeks. Meanwhile they cause severe itching. Once the blisters healed up, the cracks and grooves are formed. These cracks and grooves are really quiet painful and you can only think of avoiding it. These cracks and grooves are most common around the edge of the fingers, toes, palms and soles. And it is quiet certain that these blisters cause lots of itching.
Scratching is really very harmful and most of us found it really impossible to stop scratching. In fact the scratching leads to skin thickening and the skin changes. The cracks occur on the finger and toes. You will be very unlucky if you are affected by the large blisters because they are extremely painful. You can use the Oral antihistamines in order to reduce the itching. The Antibiotics also plays an important role in the case if the infection occurs. Potent topical steroids can be used in the affected areas every night. The result is the reduction of the inflammation and itching. Plantain commonly known as the Plantago major infused in olive or other oil can be soothing. You can also go for the PUVA therapy. I must tell you that this is a special kind of ultraviolet (UV) treatment. You can cover your hands with unbleached cotton to prevent scratching.
You should make sure in all that in any case you should not scratch the blisters. You should avoid the perfumed soaps and other bathing products which increases the itching.
All the discussion really reveals only one point and that is, this type of eczema is really very dangerous. You should follow the policy that the prevention is better than cure and in all the cases you should avoid these deadly diseases.
